How Spin the Wheel Works

The feature lives on its own dedicated page within the panelist dashboard, accessible from the main navigation. Panelists get one free spin per day, creating a daily check-in habit that keeps them connected to the platform.

Spin the Wheel leverages several well-documented behavioral psychology principles:
Variable ratio reinforcement. B.F. Skinner's research demonstrated that unpredictable rewards create the strongest behavioral habits. Unlike fixed-point survey rewards, the wheel's randomized outcomes create anticipation and excitement that fixed rewards simply can't match.
The near-miss effect. When the wheel lands just one segment away from a big prize, panelists experience a 'near miss' that actually increases motivation to try again tomorrow. This is the same psychological mechanism that makes gameshow formats so compelling.
Daily habit formation. Research by Phillippa Lally at University College London found that it takes an average of 66 days to form a new habit. By offering a fresh spin every 24 hours, we create a daily trigger that helps establish the platform as part of the panelist's routine.
